Justin Kowalchuk, Founder & CEO
‘Education is the key to improve clinical and patient outcomes.’ Historically, healthcare providers and organizations have conducted live training or utilized learning management systems (LMS) that lacked in-depth clinical training. To address this, entrepreneur Justin Kowalchuk endeavored to create a learning ecosystem that accounted for the needs of both providers of healthcare and patients. By focusing on advanced learning methodologies, Justin’s team developed a platform that provides industry-leading, clinically relevant curriculum, delivered in succinct modules to address the shorter attention span of adult learners. Today, this platform is embedded at the center of Justin’s eight year-old, Seattle-based company MedBridge. By providing clients a unique combination of proprietary LMS and engaging video content, MedBridge improves patient outcomes and promotes excellence across the clinical care spectrum. “Our videos are impactful and provide both clinicians and patients an engaging user experience that translates content into actionable information. Each course is taught by industry experts, and is delivered in a dynamic format. With multiple camera angles, motion graphics, and 3D models to illustrate pathologies, these courses engage our learners in a contextual learning experience to improve healthcare outcomes.” says Kowalchuk, Founder and CEO of MedBridge.
MedBridge’s multi-product platform encompasses both clinical education and patient engagement and solves for the largest pain points of the clients. By addressing the issues of attrition/retention of clinical professionals, outcomes, quality of care, and patient engagement (both during and post episode of care), MedBridge has successfully grown its client base to include the largest hospitals and health organizations in the nation.

MedBridge’s offering not only provides engaging content development, but also curriculum to support healthcare organizations with orientation, mentorship, leadership, and quality improvement. These programs assist organizations in attracting and retaining its workforce, with clients reporting improvement in retention rates by as much as 75 percent. In a study, conducted by Freeman Health System, which spanned over two years, it was found that the MedBridge solution attributed to a hundred percent employee retention rate.
“In order to address the growing needs of our clients and encompass additional medical disciplines, we continue to invest in production capacity. We are the largest producer of video-based medical courses in the U.S. We produce 40–60 new courses per month to benefit not only our clients but the entire healthcare ecosystem,” Justin adds.
While continuing to bolster their healthcare training initiatives, MedBridge has added a wide array of compliance video courses that assist organizations in mitigating risks and implementing best practices to meet regulatory standards. “When it comes to compliance education courses, our modules are deeply engaging. We have created the programs to be interactive by incorporating gamification that, in turn, makes learning a fun and impactful process,” mentions Crystal Schissler, Senior Product Manager at MedBridge. Going forward, MedBridge envisions continuing to produce premier-quality, analytics-oriented, products to drive better patient outcomes. In sync with such endeavors, MedBridge has major geographic expansion plans underway to meet its growing demands in Europe, South America, and Asia-Pacific.
